Completed in the fall of 1999 and beautifully situated on a forested hillside over looking the Damariscotta River, the Darling Conference Center (a.k.a. Brooke Hall) was designed to accommodate our undergraduate programs including Semester-by-the-Sea, Visiting College and University Field Trip Program and summer internships. However, with meeting space, overnight accommodations and catered meals available, the facility is also a comfortable and relaxed setting for scientific and educational meetings.

Brooke Hall is a spacious meeting and dining area graced by a large stone fireplace. Picture windows provide views of the river and a shady deck offers casual outdoor seating. Wireless Internet access is available throughout the facility. Room darkening shades permit easy viewing of PowerPoint and video presentations. The room can accommodate groups of 60 people for a single day event, but for longer meetings a group size of 30-40 people is more comfortable.

Our professional chefs serve home made meals highlighting the famous flavors of Maine. Though our standard meal plan includes three meals per day, we can customize the meal plan to suite your tastes and agenda. Consider coffee breaks featuring freshly baked muffins, cakes and cookies, or banquets starting with hot and cold appetizers.

Dormitory-style housing sleeps up to 64 undergraduate students or 32 faculty/professionals. There are sixteen rooms, each with two sets of bunk beds, wardrobes and desks, and common shower/bathrooms for men and women. A separate suite with two bedrooms, shared bath, lounge, and deck offers guest speakers or distinguished faculty more private living quarters. Bed linens and towels are provided.

Though we do charge a fee for the use of our facilities, we make every effort to make our facilities affordable and will work with you to make your event a success. Our conference coordinator can help with all aspects of meeting planning, from travel logistics to onsite accommodations, meal service and audio-visual needs.

The Darling Conference Center is handicapped accessible.
