2016 Symposium

In 2016, the 10-week SEA Fellows undergraduate research program culminated in the SEA Fellows Summer Science Symposium at the DMC on Thursday, August 11. It featured poster presentations by the SEA Fellows and other students from UMaine, UMM, Colby College, Mount Allison University, Maine Maritime Academy, and the University of New England.

Guest speaker Dick Clime of Coastal Enterprises, Inc. kicked off afternoon with remarks on the importance and future of industry-university collaborations. After the student poster and networking session, the event concluded with a tour of the DMC shellfish hatchery, business incubation facilities and waterfront.

The symposium was open to all students, community members, marine professionals and researchers who are interested in research, development and technology transfer related to Maine’s coast and ocean. For more details on this and related events, please contact the DMC at 207-563-3146.
