Remote Research Cruise
SMS/DMC faculty Rhian Waller and graduate student Steve Auscavitch join scientists from all over the country and world participating in a “Remote Research Cruise” aboard the Okeanos Explorer. Rhian and Steve will join scientists from the University of Connecticut at a command center at the Mystic Aquarium (CT), where they will observe ROV footage live and interact with scientists and pilots at sea to explore the deep-sea floor.
Follow along as they explore seamounts deep in the North Atlantic, looking for cold-water coral ecosystems!
