Planning Process
Since early 2016, we have convened a series of conversations on the UMaine campuses in Walpole and Orono and also reached out to many community and industry partners. Our goal is to create a plan that reflects the interests of the diverse constituents of the DMC.
With the release of this draft plan, we will conduct a series of public conversations about the future of the DMC into Fall 2017. There will be numerous opportunities for engagement by faculty, staff, and students as well as other constituents of the DMC, including marine industry professionals, local and regional decision makers, and those connected to other marine and environmental science and education institutions in the region. For a detailed description of the planning process to date, please see pages 22-24 of the plan.
Our goal is to finalize the Strategic Plan, as well as the closely aligned DMC Master Plan, by 2018.
